Empowering people to create meaningful change

At SessionLab, we are passionate about facilitation.
We believe good workshop design leads to better collaboration,
enabling people to achieve great things.

SessionLab

SessionLab is the leading agenda planning tool.
It enables facilitators to streamline workshop design through drag-and-drop scheduling, automatic timing and seamless sharing. It also offers a vast library of resources, activities and templates.

As a bootstrapped, self-funded company, we are committed to a remote and flexible working culture.

Our Story

Back in 2013 Robi and Filip needed a tool like SessionLab to help them design better workshops and training programs. But no such tool existed.

So they set out to build it! After a half-decade of it being part-time hobby project, they figured out there are so many other people out there who would benefit from a software designed to help make better workshops. So SessionLab became a full-time commitment and growing business.

Thousands of customers later, we are still just as passionate about promoting the power of facilitation.

Our core values

Responsibility

Empowering autonomy, we avoid micromanagement, respect time, reward initiative, and ensure transparency. We foster trust through assuming positive intent, attributing ownership, and articulating clear expectations. Listening and clarity guide us.

Bias towards action

Embrace action over analysis, accept imperfection. Set clear guidelines, acknowledge limits, and focus on efficient resource use. Meetings end with actionable steps. Learn from mistakes, simplify processes, and iterate.

Transparency

Promote openness: voice opinions, share intentions, and work transparently. Document processes, communicate openly on decisions, and encourage feedback. Check in on team sentiments regularly.

Growth mindset

Embrace learning: inquire when unsure. We exchange constructive feedback for mutual growth. Growth plans and mutual support fuel our development. Praise publicly, critique privately. Experimentation within boundaries is encouraged.

Kindness

Embrace empathy, respect diversity, and create a safe space for expression. Listen, understand, and appreciate without assumptions. Champion equality, accommodate needs, and practice patience.

Social & environmental responsibility

SessionLab actively contributes to social regeneration by empowering both our team and our clients. We offer our employees volunteer time and match employee donations as part of our commitment to giving back to the community.

In addition, by providing free plans and discounts to educational and humanitarian organisations, we ensure that powerful tools are accessible to those driving positive change.

By fostering better collaboration and teamwork, SessionLab supports initiatives that make the world a better place.

We walk our talk

We understand the needs and potential of workshop design and facilitation because we apply those skills and tools ourselves, in our everyday work.

Ways we develop and grow our facilitation skills in the team include:

  • Sharing daily check-ins and weekly check-outs;
  • Taking turns offering activities during all-hands remote meetings;
  • Bringing in external facilitators to provide a different perspective and share new tools and inspiration;
  • Setting goals together each quarter and facilitating team workshops during our live team retreats.

Check out the articles below for more insight into how we work together, or peek into how our 2024 Spring team retreat went.
